₹250₹1,50,000
The configured eligibility range is 1–10 years for this projection. Confirm the official opening rule when the child is close to age 10.
Advanced contribution timing
The default beginning-of-year model is an assumption for this estimate. Actual account interest depends on scheme calculation rules and deposit dates.

Year-by-year schedule

The projection includes deposits for 15 years, followed by six years of growth without new deposits.

Current configured scheme rules

  • Annual deposit range: ₹250 to ₹1,50,000.
  • Deposits are modeled for 15 years from account opening.
  • Account maturity is modeled at 21 years from opening.
  • Configured rate: 8.20% p.a. for FY 2026–27 Q2 (1 July–30 September 2026).

Rules version: 2026-Q2. The rate and rule table are maintained in a separate configuration module.

Projection assumptions

  • Interest compounds annually.
  • Default contributions are modeled at the beginning of each year.
  • The configured 8.20% rate is held constant across the 21-year illustration.
  • Tax savings, withdrawals, penalties, and account-default treatment are not calculated.

Actual government-notified rates and account outcomes may differ. Verify the current scheme notification before making a financial decision.

What is the SSY Calculator?

This calculator estimates how a yearly contribution could grow in a Sukanya Samriddhi account. It separates the money contributed from the interest projected over the account’s long maturity period.

How the estimate is modeled

The projection adds an annual deposit for the first 15 years, applies annual compounding, and then lets the balance grow for the remaining six years until the 21-year maturity point.

Why the rate is configurable

SSY interest rates are notified by the government and can change by period. The calculator keeps the rate in a versioned rules file so it can be updated without changing the interface or calculation code.

Who should check eligibility?

Guardians should confirm the child’s age, residency, account-opening conditions, documents, and family-account limits with an authorised bank or India Post before opening an account.

What the schedule shows

Each row shows the modeled calendar year, the girl’s projected age, that year’s deposit, interest, and closing balance. Contributions stop after year 15 while the balance continues to earn the configured rate.

Important note

This is an educational projection, not an account-opening, tax, compliance, or guaranteed-return tool. Government rules, rates, deposit dates, and actual account calculations should be checked independently.
